The Farmers Market
Last week I stumbled on this wonderful family event with Tess. The urbanbox farmers market! Not only was it located at one of my all time favorite Mmfora park (possibly the only kids park in Ghana) but also served delicious crepes for breakfast! Have you ever tried a prawn crepe? Oh my it’s orgasmic! I got some shopping done, met up with friends over breakfast and Tess had a blast running all around the park playing games.
The Urbanbox, – “buy local, eat fresh”
Owned by a lovely and inspiring Ghanaian and Ivorian couple, The Urbanbox is an online grocery store aiming to bridge the gap between local farmers and the metropolis consumer; you and me! Everything is organic and fresh and they sell some of my favorites from fresh veggies like kale and mini tomatoes to coconut oil and dried mango and they also sell meat and sea food product. You’ve got to see how gigantic their fresh prawns are!
What I loved most about the Urbanbox farmers market is that by shopping here meant that I was supporting local farmers and Ghanaian owned products. I want to be part of this iRep Ghana movement so that many years from now I can look my kids in the eyes and show them that we too can do it!
Some of their other made in Ghana products.
You can shop online and have it delivered to your doorstep!
